UKFG donates its third badminton court to Puhulwella Maha Vidyalaya

On 5th August 2018, in front of a large gathering of children, teachers, villagers and many VIPs, the Chief Education Officer in Mulatiyana , ceremoniously handed over Neil Carson badminton court to the children at Puhulwella school Kamburupitiya .

This was the third badminton court donated by Mr Neil Carson and family in UK Among the VIPs were Mr Sirisena Gamage , Mr Devsiri , his two sons Deshan and Dinum, Mr Ananda and Mr Laksiri Hewavidana

The guests were garlanded by children and escorted to the courts in a colourful parade led by the school band. UKFG chairman, Mr Sirisena Gamage declared the court open by cutting the ribbon. Four school children showed their new sports skills by playing an exhibition match. Addressing a large crowd of children, teachers and parents, school principal , Mr Anura Wannige expressed his gratitude to Neil Carson family for the wonderful gift they have given to his children. He also thanked Devsiri and his family and Mr Sirisena Gamage for their relentless welfare work at Kamburupitiya schools over that last 12 years.

School children sang traditional songs beautifully and performed cultural dances in honour of the VIP guests
