On 25 March 2025, Mr. Devsiri Hewavidana visited Iriyathota Maha Vidyalaya in Kamburupitiya, where he was warmly welcomed by the Principal, Mr. Chandrasiri, together with the teaching staff and students.
In his welcome address, the Principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Devsiri, noting that the children’s examination results had reached their highest level thanks to the Helan Carson Library gifted to the school by UK Friends of Galle, an organisation founded by Mr. Devsiri.
He went on to say:“For the past 21 years, Mr. Devsiri has rendered invaluable service to 24 schools in our province, contributing Rs. 25 million towards their development. His generosity has provided libraries, badminton courts, computers, printers, and other IT equipment. He has also supplied books, shoes, and mid-day meals for our children. The parents and students of our province are deeply grateful for his unwavering support.”
Following the speeches, guests enjoyed vibrant cultural performances by the students, including traditional dances and songs. Mr. Devsiri also presented the school library with a copy of his popular book, Ananda Bodima Sangaunu Rasakatha (Life at Ananda College Hostel).
As a special treat, he arranged for ice cream to be served to all students and staff. Before leaving, he promised to return to the school during his next visit to Sri Lanka in January 2025.

ගාලු මිතුරු පදනම ඊරියතොට විදුහලට යයි.
කඹුරුපිටියේ ඊරියතොට මහා විද්‍යාලයේ ගරු විදුහල්පතිතුමා, ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය හා දරුවන් විසින් අද එහි පැමිණි දෙව්සිරි හේවාවිදාන මහතා මහත් හරසරින් පිළිගන්නා ලදී.
දෙව්සිරි මහතා විසින් ආරම්භ කරන ලද එක්සත් රාජධානියේ ගාලු මිතුරු පදනම විසින් තම පාසැලට ලබාදුන් හෙළන් කාසන් පුස්තකාලය නිසා දරුවන්ගේ විභාග ප්‍රතිඵල ඉහළම මට්ටමක පවතින බව විස්තර කළ ගරු විදුහල්පතිතුමා පලාතේ පාසල් 24කට පුස්තකාල, බැඩ්මින්ටන්පි ටි, කොම්පියුටර්, ප්‍රින්ටර් හා අනෙකුත් තාක්ෂණික උපකරණත් ළමයින්ට පොත්පත් හා සපත්තුත් දිවා ආහාරය සපයමින් රු. ලක්ශ 200 කට වියදමින් පසුගිය වසර 21 තිස්සේ එතුමා විසින් කරනු ලබන මහාර්ඝ සේවයට පළාතේ දෙමව්පියන් හා දරුවන් ඉතාමත් ණය ගැති බවද පැවසීය.
ඉන්පසු දෙව්සිරි මැතිතුමා විසින් ලියන ලද ඉතාම ජනප්‍රිය *ආනන්ද බෝඩිමේ සැඟවුණු රස කතා* පොතේ පිටපතක්ද එතුමා විසින් පාසැල් පුස්තකාලයට පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදී. පාසල් දරුවන්ගේ අලංකාර නර්තන හා ගී සින්දු අසා ඉමහත් සතුටට පත් වූ දෙව්සිරි මහතා දරුවන් හා ගුරු මණ්ඩලය වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂ අයිස් ක්‍රීම් සංග්‍රහයක්ද පැවැත්වීය. මේ එම උත්සවයේදී ගන්නා ලද පින්තූරයි.
