The philanthropist couple Arthur and Emily Gajeweski from England, together with their two children, hosted a grand and cordial gathering on January 4th at the Lenabatuwa Hotel for their 31 scholarship students. The lunch event was held under the patronage of Mr. Sirisena Gamage, the Honourable Chairman of the UK Friends of Galle Foundation. Also in attendance were Mrs. Gamage, Mr. Devsiri Hewavidana, Mr. Ananda Hewavidana, and the honorable principals of Mapalana, Akurugoda, Ullala, Pathramulla, and Sapugoda schools.
All their scholarship students were presented with valuable T-shirts bearing the logo of the UK Friends of Galle Foundation, along with the certificates. After a delicious lunch exquisitely prepared by the staff of Lenabatuwa Hotel, students from Mapalana and Ullala delighted the special guests with beautiful cultural dance performances and songs.
Arthur and Emily distributed a variety of gifts
to all the children present, bringing them great joy. Their two children, May and Luke, also enjoyed themselves immensely by playing various games with our children. The scholarship students and their younger siblings were fortunate to receive beautiful clothing brought from England as gifts.
At the end of the event, all the children danced joyfully to DJ music together with the donor family, experiencing great happiness and entertainment. Promising to visit Sri Lanka again in the near future, Arthur and Emily and their two children bid farewell to the scholarship students and their parents with heartfelt emotion.
Shown here are some of the photographs taken on this memorable day. This event was attended only by the scholarship students sponsored by Arthur and Emily and their family members. However, we hope to organize a similar event for all the scholarship students of the UK Friends of Galle Foundation in the coming April.

ලේනබටුව හෝටලයේ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් ඉතා ප්රණිත ලෙස සකස් කරන ලද දිවා භෝජනයෙන් පසු මාපලාන හා උල්ලල දරුවෝ අලංකාර නර්තන හා ගී ගායනා වලින් විශේෂ අමුත්තන් ප්රබෝධයට පත් කළෝය.
ආතර් හා එමලි යුවල පැමිණ සිටි දූ දරුවන් සියලු දෙනාටම නොයෙක් අන්දමේ තෑගිබෝග ලබා දෙමින් ඔවුන් ඉතා සතුටට පත් කළේය. ඔවුන්ගේ දරුවන් දෙදෙනා May හා Luke අපේ දූ පුතුන් සමඟ ක්රීඩා කරමින් ඉමහත් සතුටක් ලැබූහ. ඔවුන් විසින් එංගලන්තයෙන් ගෙනෙන ලද අලංකාර ඇඳුම් තෑගි වශයෙන් ලබා ගැනීමට ශිෂ්යත්ව දරුවන් හා ඔවුන්ගේ නංගිලා මල්ලිලා වාසනාවන්තයින් වූහ.
උත්සවය අවසානයේදී ඩීජේ සංගීතයට දානපති පවුල සමග නටමින් දරුවන් සියලු දෙනාම ඉමහත් විනෝදයක් හා සතුටක් ලැබුවෝය
නුදුරු අනාගතයේදී නැවත වරක් ලංකාවට පැමිණෙන බව පොරොන්දුවෙමින් ආතර් හා එමලි යුවල හා දරු දෙදෙනා අපේ ශිෂ්යත්ව දරුවන් හා දෙමව්පියන්ගෙන් උත්සවය අවසානයේදී සමුගත්තේ ඉතා කණගාටුවෙන
මෙම උත්සවයට සහභාගී වූයේ ආතර් එමලී යුවළගේ ශිෂ්යත්ව දරුවන් හා ඔවුන්ගේ පවුලේ අය පමණි. නමුත් ලබන අප්රේල් මාසයේදී ගාලු මිතුරු පදනමේ සියලුම ශිෂ්යත්ව දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් මෙවැනිම උත්සවයක් පැවැත්වීමට අපි බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමු
