The UK Friends of Galle Foundation of the United Kingdom has provided assistance of Rs. 23.3 million to seventeen schools in Kamburupitiya over the past twenty-one years. Sapugoda Rathanapala College was fortunate to receive the most valuable single resource from UKFG foundation.
The Helen Carson Swimming Pool, built at a cost of Rs. 1.1 million and donated to the school by Mr. Devsiri Hewavidana’s close friends, English philanthropists Neil and Helen Carson, was opened in 2021. In addition to the children of Rathanapala Vidyalaya, thousands of children from other schools and adults use the swimming pool to learn swimming.
Mr. Devsiri visited the school unannounced on 6th March 2025 and was delighted to see the children of grades 1 and 2 practicing swimming with the coach. The pool looked beautiful and was well looked after by the staff.
He then toured the school with Principal Mr. Aruna Epitakatuwa and was delighted to see the Neil Carson Library, Helen Carson Badminton Court, photocopier, computers and other resources provided by the UK Friends of Galle Foundation being well used and maintained by the school. දෙව්සිරි මහතා සපුගොඩ රතන විදුහලට ගියදා
එක්සත් රාජධානියේ ගාලු මිතුරු පදනම විසින් පසුගිය වසර විසි එක තුළ කඹුරුපිටියේ පාසල් දාහතකට රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 233ක උදව් උපකාර කොට තිබේ. එම පදනමින් ඉතාමත්ම වටිනා තනි සම්පත ලැබීමට වාසනාවන්ත වූයේ සපුගොඩ රතනපාල විදුහලයි.
දෙව්සිරි හේවාවිදාන මහතාගේ සමීපතම මිතුරන් වන එංගලන්තයේ දානපතී නීල් හා හෙලන් කාසන් යුවළ විසින් රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 110ක වියදමින් සාදා පාසලට පරිත්‍යාග කළ හෙලන් කාසන් පිහිනුම් තටාකය විවෘත කෙරුණේ 2021 වසරේදීය.
රතනපාල විදුහලේ දරුවන්ට අමතරව අවට පාසැල්වල දරුවන් හා වැඩිහිටියන් දහස් ගණනක් මෙම පිහිනුම් තටාකය පාවිච්චි කරමින් පිහිනීම පුහුණු වෙති.
දෙව්සිරි මහතා පසුගිය 2025 මාර්තු 6 වෙනිදා . එම පාසැලට පැමිණ පළමුවන හා දෙවන ශ්‍රේණියේ දරුවන් පිහිනුම් පුහුණුවන අන්දම දැක බලා බලවත් සතුටට පත්වීය.
විදුහල්පති අරුණ එපිටකටුව මහතා සමඟ පාසල වටේ සංචාරය කළ දෙවිසිරි මහතා ගාලු මිතුරු පදනමින් ලබා දුන් නීල් කාසන් පුස්තකාලය, හෙලන් කාසන් බැඩ්මින්ටන් පිටිය ෆොටෝ කොපියන්ත්‍රය හා පරිගණක හා අනෙකුත් සම්පත් මනා ලෙස පරිහරණය හා නඩත්තු කරනවා දැක මහත්සේ ප්‍රීතියට පත්වීය. මේ එම අවස්ථාවේ ගන්නා ලද පින්තූරයි.
