Mr. Devsiri P. Hewavidana and a few other guests arrived at Lenabatuwa Vidyalaya, Kamburupitiya today, March 6th, he was warmly welcomed by the Principal Mr Suresh, the teaching staff and the children.
The Principal expressed his deep gratitude to Mr Devsiri for spending over 200,000 Rupees in donating beautiful and colorful costumes and ornaments needed for the school band. He further said that he had not got enough words to thank Mr. Devsiri and his UK Fiends of Galle foundatoon for the valuable work they had been doing for the past 21 years, providing seventeen schools in Kamburupitiya with the necessary IT equipment, shoes, sports items, badminton courts, books, libraries and buildings.
Afterwards, the school’s young children enthralled everyone present with beautiful songs and cultuaral dances. At the end of the event,
Mr. Devsiri treated the children with sweets and said goodbye to them with a bit of sadness. He promised to return to school with ice cream in a few months.
ගාලු මිතුරු පදනමෙන් ලේන බටුව විදුහලට තෑගි
අද මාර්තු 6 වෙනිදා දෙව්සිරි හේවාවිදන මහතා කඹුරුපිටිය ලේනබටුව විදුහලට සපැමිණි විට ගරු විදුහල්පතිතුමා ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය හා දරුවන් විසින් එතුමා මහත් හරසරින් පිළිගන්නා ලදී.
දෙව්සිරි මහතා විසින් රු. ලක්ෂ දෙකකට අධික මුදලක් වැය කරමින් තම පාසලේ තූර්ය වාදක කණ්ඩායමට අවශ්‍ය අලංකාර වර්ණවත් ඇඳුම් හා ආභරණ පරිත්‍යාග කිරීම ගැන මුළු විදුහලේම බලවත් ස්තුතිය පුද කරන බව විදුහල්පතිතුමා විසින් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. කඹුරුපිටියේ පාසල් දාහතකට අවශ්‍ය තාක්ෂණික උපකරණ, සපත්තු, ක්‍රීඩාභාණ්ඩ පොත්පත් හා ගොඩනැගිලි ලබාදෙමින් දෙව්සිරි මහතා හා එක්සත් රාජධානියේ ගාලූ මිතුරු පදනම පසුගිය අවුරුදු 21 තිස්සේ මේ කරගෙන යන වටිනා කර්තව්‍ය ගැන ස්තුති කිරීමට තමන්ට වචන මදි යැයි විදුහල්පතිතුමා කීවේය.
ඉන් අනතුරුව විදුහලේ කුඩා දරුවෝ අලංකාර ගී සින්දු හා නර්තන වලින් පැමිණ සිටි සියලු දෙනාම ප්‍රබෝධයට පත් කළහ. එම දරුවන්ට ටොපි වලින් සංග්‍රහ කළ දෙව්සිරි මහතා නුදුරු කාලයේ අයිස් ක්‍රීම් රැගෙන නැවත පාසල්ට පැමිණෙන බවට පොරොන්දු වෙමින් ඔවුන්ගෙන් සමගත්තේ තරමක් කණගාටුවෙනි. එම අවස්ථාවේ ගන්නා ලද පින්තූර සමූහයෙන් කොටසකි මේ.
