On the 4th of May, 2025, Mr. Ananda Hewavidana , Mr. Devsiri Hewavidana, and Mr. Piyadasa, accompanied by Miss. Imasha Sathsarani, paid a return visit to Thekkawatta Elders’ Home in Ovitigamuwa. The guests were warmly received by Mr. Jagath, the home’s administrator, and the dedicated staff. The elderly residents of the home welcomed the visitors with heartfelt, beautiful, and uplifting songs, creating a truly joyful atmosphere.
Mr. Jagath, who has been a devoted reader of Mr. Devsiri’s newspaper articles for over 15 years, expressed his appreciation by gifting him a bottle of exquisite Dedigama honey to take back to London as a token of gratitude.
In return, Mr. Devsiri presented Mr. Jagath with a special gift: a copy of Ananda Bodime Rasakatha, a popular collection of stories about his time at Ananda College Hostel in Colombo. The stories, which recount his experiences with friends who later became prominent political figures in Sri Lanka, hold great personal significance.
To further contribute to the home’s well-being, Mr. Ananda Hewavidana made a generous donation of Pampers worth Rs. 6,500 to the matron of the elders’ home, on behalf of the UKFG, for the use of the residents.
The visit concluded with a series of group photographs with the staff, capturing the warmth and camaraderie of the occasion. In the presence of all, Mr. Devsiri made a monetary donation to Mr. Jagath to support the ongoing needs of the elders’ home.

ගාලු මිතුරු පදනම තේක්කවත්තේ ඒ වැඩිහිටි නිවාසයට යයි
2025මැයි 4 සෙනසුරාදා ආනන්ද හේවාවිදාන , දෙව්සිරි හේවාවිදාන හා පියදාස යන මහත්වරු ඉමාශා සත්සරණී මෙනෙවිය සමග ඕවිටිගමුවේ තේක්කවත්තේ වැඩිහිටි නිවාසය දෙවන වතාවටත් නැරඹීමට ගියෝය. එම නිවාසයේ පාලක ජගත් මහතා ඇතුළු සේවක මණ්ඩලය විසින් අමුත්තන් මහත් හරසරින් පිළිගන්නා ලදී. නේවාසික වැඩිහිටියන් පැමිණ සිටි සියලු දෙනාම මනහර ගීත ගයා ප්‍රබෝධමත් කළහ.
තමා අවුරුදු 15ක් තිස්සේ දෙව්සිරි මහතාගේ පුවත්පත් ලිපි කියවන රසිකයකු බව ප්‍රකාශ කළ ජගත් මහතා එතුමාට නැවත ලන්ඩන් නුවරට රැගෙන යාම සඳහා ඉහළ ප්‍රමිතියෙන් යුතු දෙදියගල පැණි බෝතලයක්ද පිරිනැමුවේ ය. මෙයට වසර දහයකට පෙර ලන්කාවේ ඉතා ජනප්‍රිය වූ දෙව්සිරි මහතා විසින් ලියන ලද ආනන්ද බෝඩිමේ සැඟවුන රස කතා පොතේ පිටපතක් එතුමා විසින් ජගත් මහතාට පිරිනැමුවේය. ඉන්පසු ආනන්ද හේවාවිදාන මහතා විසින් ගාලු මිතුරු පදනම වෙනුවෙන් වැඩිහිටි නිවාසයේ නේවාසික මහත්වරුන්ගේ සුව පහසුව සඳහා රුපියල් 6500ක් වටිනා පැම්පස් තොගයක් එහි පාලිකාතුමියට පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදී.
නිලධාරී මණ්ඩලය සමඟ සමූහ ඡායාරූප කිහිපයකට පෙනී සිටිමෙන් අනතුරුව දෙව්සිරි මහතා වැඩිහිටි නිවාසයේ අවශ්‍යතාවයන් සඳහා යොදවන ලෙස ඉල්ලමින් ජගත් මහතාට මුදල් පරිත්‍යාගයක් කළේ කාගේත් අත්පොළසන් මැද්දේය. මේ එහිදී ගන්නා ලද පින්තූර සමූහයයි.
