On 28 September 2022 , the Ullalla school children were delighted to receive a brand new computer, large monitor and speakers and the printer worth 140,000 Rupees , a generous gift from Mr Devsiri and his family. On behalf of Mr Devsiri’s family, the chairman of UKFG, Mr Sirisena Gamage , and Mr Laksiri Hewavidana handed over the PC to the School principal.
In his speech. Mr Gamage, expressed his wish that the Ullala children would use the new equipment to expnd their knowledge and enhance their education. Mr Gamage also mentioned the fact that out of all the 17 schools in UKFG family, Ullala school had received the highest number of donations from them . He said that the school children were very lucky to receive the Neil Carson library, the Hannah Carson Badminton court, a projector & screen ,a photo copier, many computers, and two safety walls and brand new shoes for all 300+ children at three occasions in the past. In return, he explained that all UKFG wanted to see was Ullala children passing O level and A levels with flying colours.
In his acceptance speech, the school principal, Mr Sanjeewa Abeywickrama has expressed their utmost gratitude to Hewavidana family for the gift . He said the his staff and children highly appreciated the everything Hewavidana family and Mr Gamage had done for his school that was founded by late Mr D C Hewavidana , the father of Mr Devsiri and Mr Laksiri . Mr Sanjeewa further mentioned that the pc would be a god send to his children who study under very difficult conditions and it would certainly help them to achieve good grades at the future examinations.
At the end of the ceremony, all children and staff were treated to sumptuous lunch with an ice cream by Hewavidana family.
වර්තමාන ලාංකික සමාජයේ පවතින දරුණු ආර්ථික අර්බුදය නිසා බොහෝ දෙනා ජීවත් වන්නේ අසීරුවෙනි. ඉන් වඩාත් පීඩාවට පත්වන්නේ දරුවන් ය.
එංගලන්තයේ දෙව්සිරි හේවාවිදාන මහතා ලංකාවට පැමිණ පසුගිය 2022 අගෝස්තු මාසයේ කඹුරුපිටියේ පාසල් හත අටක සන්චාරය කරමින් දරුවන්ට බොහෝ දේ ලබා දුනි. ඉන් වඩාත් ම වැදගත් වන්නේ දරුවන්ට දිවා ආහාරය ලබා දීමයි. දැන් පවතිනා තරඟකාරී රටාව අනුව හැම පාසලකට ම නවීන පරිගණක අත්‍යවශ්‍ය ය. පරණ පරිගණක අක්‍රිය වුණොත් මේ පවතින ආර්ථික රටාව හමුවේ විදුහල්පතිවරුන්ට සහ දෙමව්පියන්ට අලුත්වැඩියා කර ගැනීම සිහිනයකි. වසර ගණනාවක් පුරා උල්ලල විදුහලේ ද තිබූ පරිගණක පහම අක්‍රියව තිබුණි. මේ පිළිබඳව හසාරා අභයවර්ධන ගුරුතුමිය දෙව්සිරි හේවාවිදාන මහතාගෙන් කළ ඉල්ලීමකට අනුව එතුමා අලුත් පරිඝණක යක් ඉක්මනින් ලබා දෙන බවට පොරොන්දු වී එංගලන්තය බලා පිටත්ව ගියේ ය.
එතුමා සතියක් එතුමා ඇතුළත පරිගණක උපාංග හා ප්‍රින්ටර් යන්ත්‍රයක් ලබා දීමට උත්සුක විය. එතුමා නියෝජනය කරමින් ගාලුමිතුරු පදනමේ සභාපති සිරිසේන ගමගේ මහතා විසින් මෙම භාණ්ඩ උල්ලල විදුහලට පරිත්‍යාග කරමින් මෙම භාණ්ඩ ප්‍රවේසමෙන් පරිහරණය කළ යුතු ආකාරය හා අධ්‍යාපනය තුළින් දරුවන් ජීවිතය ජය ගත යුතු ආකාරය ද එතුමාගේ අදහස් දක්වමින් පැවසී ය. තවදුරටත් කතා කරමින් ඒ මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේ කොතරම් මිල මුදල් තිබුණත් සමහර අය අන්‍යන්ට උදව් කිරීමට මැළි වන සමාජයක දෙව්සිරි හේවාවිදාන මහතා තමන්ගේ මව් රටේ උදව් අවැසි දරුවන්ට මෙන්ම පාසැල්වලට ද උදව් කිරීමට ගන්නා වූ මහන්සිය ගැන විස්තර කරන ලදී. මේ වනවිට වසර දහයකට වැඩි කාලයක් කඹුරුපිටියේ පාසල්වලට හා දරුවන්ට ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජයටවත් කිරීමට නොහැකි බොහෝ දේ දෙව්සිරි මහතා විසින් පරිත්‍යාග කර ඇති බවයි.
උල්ලල විදුහලේ විදුහල්පතිතුමා අදහස් දක්වමින් එදින ලැබුණා වූ පරිගණක සහ ප්‍රින්ටර් යන්ත්‍ර බොහෝ දුෂ්කරතා මැද ජීවිතය ජය ගැනීමට වෙර දරන අහිංසක දරුවන්ට මහත් පිටුවහලක් වන බව පැවසී ය. වසර ගණනාවකට පසු දරුවන්ට මෙම යන්ත්‍ර ලැබීමෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ අහිංසක සිත් සතුටින් පිරුණු බව ඔවුන්ගේ අහිංසක මුහුණු තුළින් මනාව ප්‍රත්‍යක්ෂ වේ.
