Indian philanthropists, Mr Sandeep and Mrs Veneeta Halalka visited Srilanka in April 2023. When they met UKFG chairman, Mr Sirisena Gamagem they expressed their wish to visit a few rural schools in Matara district . A few days later, Mr Gamage was delighted to accompany them to visit four of the leading schools , Mapalana, Ullalla, Akurugoda Sapugoda Rathanapala in Kamburupitiya . All four schools are members of UKFG family and have received so much help from the foundation.
Mr. Gamage and all the VIPs were garlanded at the school gate by prefects of Ratanapala school and were escorted to the premises by the school’s band playing beautiful music . A few older students sang songs and performed beautiful dances to entertain the guests. Same thing happened at other three schools where they were greeted enthusiastically by children and the teachers and entertained with cultural shows
Mrs Veneeta offered a scholarship to talented little girlm Nadeeni Tharunya at Mapalana school who performed several cultural dances to the delight of everybody. She said that the scholarship would help her to go to a dancing school in order to enhance her skills and compete in island wide dancing competitions. Mr Sandeep was full of praise for the work UKFG were doing at each school. At the end of a very enjoyable day , Mr Sandeep offered $1000 dollars to Mr Gamage and requested him to use them for any project that would help children further . Thanks to his generosity Mapalana school was able to buy all the costumes for their junior school band.
All the musical items for the band was previously donated by Mrs Ruvini Hewavidana at a cost of 125,000 Rupees .

පාසල් දරුවන් හා ගුරු මණ්ඩලය එම යුවල හර සරින් පිළිගත් අතර විද්‍යාලීය තුර්යවාදක කන්ඩායමේ ආචාර පෙළපාලිය මැද්දෙන් රැස්වීම් ශාලාවට කැඳවා ගෙන යන ලදී. දරුවන්ගේ ගී, නැටුම්, වලින් අමුත්තන් ප්‍රබෝධමත් කලහ.
මාපලාන හා උල්ලල විදුහල් වල දරුවන්ගෙන්ද ලැබුණේ එවැනිම ඉහළ පිළිගැනීමකි. ඔවුහුත් විවිධ ප්‍රසංග ඉදිරිපත් කරමින් සම්භාවනීය අමුත්තන් අතිශයින් ප්‍රීතිමත් කළෝය . ගාලු මිතුරු පදනම මගින් අසරණ දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් කරනු ලබන සේවය එම යුවළගේ දැඩි ප්‍රශංසාවට ලක් වීය.
සපුගොඩ රතනපාල විදුහලට දිවා ආහාරය ලබා දීමටත්, මාපලාන විදුහලේදී නැටුම්වලින් මනහර දස්කම් පෑ ලියනගේ නදිනි තාරන්‍යා දියණියන්ට ශිෂත්වය කුත්, එම පාසලේ බෑන්ඩ් කණ්ඩායමට බලවත් අඩුපාඩුව ක්ව තිබූ නිල ඇඳුම් ලබා දීමටත් එම යුවල ඩොලර් 1000 ක විශාල මුදලක්දපරිත්‍යාගය කළහ.
